QUALITY MAINTENANCE ENGINEER

Scope of the job
The holder of this position, who will report to the Quality Assurance Manager, will champion quality maintenance and improvement within the production process, ensuring that production is done according to specification and anomalies are tackled by using World Class Manufacturing (WCM) approach and methodologies. He will be a member of Quality Management (QM) pillar and will be responsible for claim, defect waste and Sigma Index.

Roles and Responsibilities;
  • Monitor the effectiveness of quality inspection and maintenance systems at the printer
  • Ensure that the barrier systems at the printer are functioning properly
  • Analyze, deploy and report total waste data on a daily basis and following up on any significant defect waste
  • Ensure that actions arising from defect waste analysis are implemented
  • Drive internal and external customer claims analysis and resolution
  • Monitor quality of raw materials used in production & ensure that they meet Tetra Pak’s specifications
  • In charge of claims or complaints process against suppliers for non- conforming raw materials
  • Lead, support, coach or participate in World Class Manufacturing teams in the factory
  • Organizing and conducting training for printer cell members on any quality aspects
  • Project management
  • Manage; calibrate laboratory equipment & process aides ensuring that their working status is kept up to date
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science & Technology or Process Engineering
  • Extensive knowledge of Quality tools and Statistical Process Control (SPC)
  • Experience in a Manufacturing field will be an added advantage
  • Computer Knowledge with practical use of MS Word, MS PowerPoint and Excel
Experience
  • Minimum 4 years practical experience in manufacturing/printing environment

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the guidance and direct supervision of the ILO Somalia, the main duties of the Driver/Clerk will include the following:
  • Drive for the Chief Technical Adviser and other high-ranking officials.
  • Keep a timetable for arrivals and departures of officials and arrange VIP rooms.
  • Meet official personnel at the airport and facilitate immigration and customs formalities.
  • Collect and deliver mail, pouch or documents.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle, check oil, water, battery, brakes and tires. Perform minor repairs and arrange for other repairs, and ensure that the vehicle is kept clean.
  • Keep records of use of vehicle, daily mileage, gas consumption, oil changes, greasing and other services.
  • Ensure that the steps required by rules and regulations are taken in case of Involvement in accident.
  • Perform other miscellaneous office support functions such as messenger services.
  • Making photocopies or sending faxes.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Education
  • Completion of secondary education, valid driver’s licence, knowledge of driving rules and Regulations and skills in minor vehicle repair.
Experience
  • Four years’ work experience as a driver with a safe driving record.
Languages
  • Good knowledge of the local language and knowledge of the working language of the duty station.
Competencies
  • A high level of driving and vehicle repair and maintenance skills.
  • Proven ability to keep accurate records of the use of vehicle.
  • Proven ability to drive safely in local traffic conditions.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to undertake minor vehicle repair.
  • Ability to lift heavy mail bags and boxes.
  • Ability to take initiative and discretion.

1. Aircraft Maintenance Engineers, Avionics

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Have category “R” (comm/nav) and “X” (electr/compass) Engineers License minimally
  • Recent (within the last 2 years)appropriate training on Bombardier Dash 8 series 100 to 300
  • At least 5 years appropriate practical experience
  • Be able and willing to obtain category “R” (pulse equipment) rating Aircraft Maintenance Engineers, Mechanical
2. Aircraft Maintenance Engineers, Mechanical

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Have category “A” and “C” (gas turbine) Engineers License
  • Have a minimum of 5 years experience on Bombardier Dash 8 series 100 to 300, and/or Cessna C208 Caravan, of which at least 1 year must be as certifying engineer
  • Have received initial or recurrent type training within the last two (2) years
  • Other aircraft type experience would be an added advantage
