The International Rescue Committee (IRC) in Kenya serves vulnerable populations in the Turkana region and refugees in the Kakuma and Dadaab (Hagadera) camps.
The IRC implements programs in the areas of comprehensive primary health care, nutrition, sanitation and hygiene and HIV/ AIDS.

IRC is currently looking for a Nutrition Officer who will work under supervision of the Nutrition manager.
He/she will:
- Ensure the smooth implementation of a comprehensive Infant and Young Child feeding (IYCF), home-based Therapeutic Feeding Program (CMAM) as well as Growth monitoring Program(GMP) in Hagadera Refugee camp,
- Enhance community participation and ownership of best Nutrition Practices with involvement of key target groups,
- Ensure proper communication, coordination and harmonization of nutrition tools with the different stakeholders involved in food/nutrition activities,
- Ensure the establishment of nutrition monitoring activities and mentor health staff in IYCF BCC strategies, case detection and referral system, in the conduction of case documentation and surveys.
- Improvement of the IYCF care practices in the camp as priority and ensure timely reporting in accordance with set deadlines.
- Assist in quality inpatient feeding and provision of special diets to patients with special needs and
- Improve the provision of quality nutrition counseling and education in the hospital and other entry points in the health and nutrition programme.
