TECHNICAL LOGISTICIAN – Nairobi
The position:
Under the supervision of the Logistics Coordinator, the Technical Logistician is responsible for management of equipment, vehicle pool and general installation and rehabilitations of Trocaire’s facilities. The Technical Logistician will also compliment and support the Supply Logistician in routine supply chain functions including procurement, storage and transport management.
The Technical Logistician is expected to be a flexible multiskilled person capable of providing technical support in different areas of the logistics function in the daily running of project activities.
The position is based in Nairobi with occasional travel to Mandera.
Competencies:
- The candidate should be an experienced logistician with technical skills in at least 3 or more of the following areas; supply management, IT, radio communications, vehicle mechanics, energy/electricity and construction.
- Minimum 5 years experience as a logistician with a humanitarian organization, computing / office technology, general principles of procurement and supply chain, basic knowledge of customs clearance procedures, and a valid driving license.
- A graduate diploma from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supplies (CIPS) or its equivalent is desirable.
- The holder should also be a good communicator, both verbal and written, as well as have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
