PROCUREMENT COORDINATOR Based in Tharaka Program Unit

Plan is an international humanitarian child centred community development organization, without religious, political or government affiliation. Plan started its operations in Kenya in 1982 and is committed to protecting and promoting child rights, and to improving the lives and futures of poor children, their families and communities through a child-centred community development approach. Plan Kenya is seeking to recruit for the Position of Procurement Coordinator for Tharaka Program Unit. This position will facilitate purchase of goods and services required while maximising value for money. The successful candidate will report to the Administration Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the procurement function for the Program Unit in line with established Plan policies and procedures;
  • Enhance effective and efficient procurement of goods and services within corporate policies;
  • Prepare vehicle management reports
  • Be an effective Security Focal person in the Program Unit
  • Facilitate capacity enhancement of CBOs in procurement and supplies management processes;
Qualifications, Experience and skills
  • Diploma in procurement and supplies management;
  • Minimum 2 years experience in procurement and supplies preferable in a reputable organisation;
  • Computer literate (Ms-office suite);
  • Experience in staff and community capacity building and training is an added advantage;
  • Good negotiation skills;
  • Good communication skills.
