Our focus of work includes improving access to healthcare, education and food provision to children and their families.
Millions of people across East Africa are currently experiencing serious food insecurity, and children are among the worst affected. The cause of this emergency is not just the lack of rain but a combination of underlying factors. Save the Children is committed to providing immediate humanitarian relief to people in need as we are to working with affected communities, governments and the international community to find solutions to the underlying problems of this crisis. We are currently recruiting for 3 positions:
CONSORTIUM COORDINATOR – 1 year contract based in Nairobi
The Consortium Coordinator will have overall leadership and management responsibility for the South Central Cash Consortium which will be implementing the Food Assistance program for Vulnerable Households in South Central Somalia. She/he will take the lead in Advocacy and Communications in particular plan and deliver targeted and effective messages to raise awareness of the plight of households that are currently experiencing the food security crisis in South Central Somalia.
Person Specification
- A Post graduate degree in Social Sciences or equivalent and least 10 years experience in a project management role.
- This position requires the demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships and create awareness about the current food security crisis in Southern Somalia.
